Carroll is currently the Executive Director of the Achievement Gap for the Boston Public School Central Administration. As Executive Director, he works across schools and departments in the district to support and direct initiatives to eliminate the achievement gap. Previously, Carroll spent two years as principal of Henry Dearborn Middle School in Roxbury, and seven years as the Wellesley Middle School Assistant Principal. Additionally, Carroll spent 16 years as the M.E.T.C.O Director for the Lincoln Public Schools, where he collaborated with students, staff, parents and the community on initiatives aiming to increase diversity and multiculturalism.
Carroll has degrees from the University of Massachusetts, Atlanta University School of Business Administration, and Northeastern University. He was the Executive Director for Empowering Multicultural Initiatives, an anti-racist education project and taught multiple courses in instruction for urban school leadership at the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
