Chris Moynihan is currently an educational consultant, working with public school districts and independent schools to assist them as they continue to improve the quality of education for students. She consults both independently as well as for Teachers21. Chris has previously filled a variety of roles in public education, most recently as an elementary school principal in Newton, Massachusetts. Prior to that, she was a curriculum specialist in mathematics for a total of twelve years with five of those years having a shared role in both mathematics and science. Previous to specializing in curriculum, Chris spent seventeen years as a classroom teacher in kindergarten and grades two, three, five, and six. She holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Boston College with a specialization in mathematics education. Chris presents at the local, state, and national levels and tutors from the elementary through post-high school levels to share her expertise and passion for learning. Her book, Math Sense: The Look, Sound, and Feel of Effective Math Instruction (Stenhouse Publishers), was recently released.
