Instructional Leadership Development
Teachers 21 consultants work with principals, department chairs, and directors of curriculum and instruction to set an agenda for improving instruction and raising student achievement. Consultants work with school leaders to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of their instructional program and to craft a comprehensive strategic plan that prioritizes school initiatives, articulates instructional expectations, aligns professional development offerings, structures teacher collaboration, and provides continuous monitoring and evaluation.
Schools often maintain an ongoing relationship with a Teachers 21 consultant and the relationship can include:
- Individual and group coaching of school leaders and/or the leadership team
- Analysis of student achievement data
- Regular check-ins and Walkthroughs with school leaders
- Development of new tools and processes to promote more effective collaboration within the school and more productive meetings and planning sessions with the faculty
- Preparation of timelines, calendars and agendas in areas such as professional development or the introduction of a new program initiative
- Collaborative development of the progress indicators that will signal effective implementation of a new instructional effort
