Capacity Building

Teachers 21 provides integrated support to schools and districts, helping them to develop systems that will put their students on the path to success.  Use of student outcome data and continual improvement is at the core of our values, and we seek to model it in our own organizational decision-making and in our work with schools.  We build the capacity of principals and teachers to use data to diagnose and address the needs of individual students, groups of students, graduation cohorts, or the entire school.  We work collaboratively with teachers to improve classroom practice, working with them to implement strong curricula and assessments in the core content areas and adapt instructional strategies that will accelerate student learning.

As our partner schools surface challenges and obstacles in their efforts to improve, we work with them to identify and develop strategies, resources and tools that will enable them to attain their goals.  We close the “learning loop” in-house so that our work continually informs and improves our knowledge base and strategies, and benefits our partner schools.

Teachers 21 has partnered with several schools and districts in multi-year efforts to improve the systems on all levels– classroom to district.  Focused work on the academic program and classroom practices have propelled substantial growth in student achievement.  See descriptions of the work in:
