Project Based Learning in the STEM classroom

Creating a higher performing classroom in which students form a powerful learning community focused on achievement, self-mastery, and contribution to the community.

Participants will design a Project Based Learning (PBL) unit and learn how it can be properly used in the classroom - the goal being that each teacher will create a higher performing classroom in which students form a powerful learning community focused on achievement, self-mastery, and contribution to the community. The class will also focus on the teacher’s use of technology and how it can change the typical daily agenda in the classroom. Participants will explore new types of assignments that they can create to focus on problem solving, communication and other 21st century skills. Specifically, participants will begin “flipping” their classroom to ensure that students are able to access and understand the curriculum and the standards.
