Programs and Courses
Our programs and courses reflect today's most urgent needs of educators and school systems and are built upon best practice, research-based learning models and decades of experience.
Most of our programs are cohort-based with set curriculum and program components. Many require individuals to apply for placement into the program.
We offer other programs that are run through the district and are facilitated and taught by Teachers21, such as Supervision for Growth and the The Effective Teaching Program. These programs are fully customizable, ensuring the program objectives align with your district's vision, goals, available resources and unique needs.
We also offer a variety of courses and workshops that individuals may enroll in without application or prerequisite. If a number of educators from a single district are interested in enrolling in an open enrollment program, online or graduate course, please contact the office as a group discount may be available.
DESE approved licensure programs for educators seeking licensure as principals, assistant principals, directors or superintendents.
The Leadership Licensure Program is taught by Teachers 21 and administered by MSAA for principal preparation aligned to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Educator (DESE) administrator standards. We also partner with Fitchburg State University that allows our candidates the option to pursue a CAGS in Interdisciplinary Studies: Individualized Track or a M.Ed. Educational Leadership and Management Principal/Assistant Principal Concentration (non-licensure).
The Graduate Certificate in School Leadership for Educational Equity, Racial Understanding, and Organizational Transformation is a principal preparation program aligned to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) administrator standards and develops core competencies in three main areas: Organizational Leadership, Anti-Racist Leadership and Social Emotional Competencies.
Teachers21, in partnership with the Boston College Lynch School of Education and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (MASS) offers a unique, combined doctorate and licensure program designed specifically for full-time school administrators who aspire to become district leaders.
The Leadership Licensure Program for Superintendents (LLPS) is a Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) approved path to fulfill the requirements for a Massachusetts initial license as a Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent. With successful completion of the companion Professional School Administrator Program (PSAP), students earn a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) from Boston College..
Programs for Teachers
We offer programs specially designed for teachers active in the field who are seeking to become more adept at their craft and better leaders of their classrooms.
Designed to provide teachers with the strategies, conditions and interactions necessary for understanding and increasing their impact on student learning and engagement.
Courses and Workshops
We offer a variety of courses and workshops throughout the year, open to anyone in the education field. Keep an eye out for special series like our Leadership Series and Summer Open Enrollment.
While leadership skills are embedded within all of our workshops, we offer programs specifically designed for school leadership.
We believe that all educators are leaders, whether they are leading a classroom, school or district.
To be a leader one must also be a constant learner. Willingness to grow and modelling this for others is integral to building a successful education system.
