Sujan Talukdar, Ed.D.
Dr. Sujan “Suzie” Talukdar currently works as the K-12 Director of the Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity (METCO) Program for the Brookline Public Schools. This program provides the opportunity for a quality integrated public school education for approximately 300 students of color from Boston and Brookline residents attending the public schools. With a particular passion for and expertise in cultural proficiency and educational equity, Dr. Talukdar has served as consultant to various educational institutions throughout Massachusetts, including Brandeis University and Wellesley College. Since 1999, Dr. Talukdar has also worked as an instructor with Initiatives for Developing Equity and Achievement for Students (IDEAS), an offering of the EDCO Collaborative, which is a program committed to the achievement and success for ALL students via culturally proficient practices. Before arriving in Brookline in 2006, Dr. Talukdar worked as the Director of the Intercultural Center at Brandeis University, and before that, worked for several years as a sixth grade social studies teacher at F.A. Day Middle School in Newton, MA. Dr. Talukdar earned her B.A. from Brandeis University, her M.A. in Teaching at Boston University, and her Ed.D. at Boston College.
