Selected Calculus Topics

The focus of this course is to introduce participants to the subject of calculus, its historical conceptual development, and its applications in algebra, geometry, and real-life problems. Some key ideas explored are the concept of limit, how the derivative relates to maxima, minima, points of inflection, and concavity of curves, and the relationship between integration and the area under a curve. Participants solve basic problems using differentiation and integration.
